April 19: Alabama finished 2nd at the NCAA Championships! Geralen and her teammates displayed an amazing performance on Friday night, hitting 24 out of 24 routines, and they finished right behind Georgia 197.825 to 197.575. This marks the 11th time that the Alabama Gymnastics Team finished among the top two teams in the nation. Congratulations to the NCAA runner-ups and also to Alabama freshman, Ashley Priess, who won the bronze medal on beam in the event finals last night!

April 15: Geralen helped the Alabama Gymnastics Team win its sixth SEC Championship and win the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships! Geralen and her teammates will now advance to the NCAA Championships this weekend and they are seeded third. Alabama will be competing in the evening session along with Utah, Oregon State, UCLA, Arkansas, and Illinois. Georgia, LSU, Florida, Oklahoma, Stanford, and Penn State will be competing in the afternoon session. Best of luck to Geralen and her teammates!

March 18: Alabama closed out their 2009 regular season ranked 5th in the nation, 3rd on beam, 4th on vault, 7th on bars, and 11th on floor. Individually, Geralen is ranked 20th on beam! Alabama will begin their postseason on Saturday at the Southeastern Conference Championships where they will compete against Georgia, LSU, Florida, Arkansas, Auburn, and Kentucky. January 10: Geralen helped Alabama defeat Auburn yesterday and also finished first on bars! Alabama came out on top with a team total of 195.675 to Auburn's 195.650. Geralen contributed to the win with a 9.775 on vault, a 9.800 on bars, and a 9.825 on beam. Check out more details in Alabama's press release. Congratulations to Geralen and the rest of the Alabama team! They will return to competition next week against Kentucky.

December 3: Geralen competed in Alabama's Ghosts and Goblins Intrasquad at the end of October and helped the Goblins win 96 to 95! You can check out the press release here. Also, gymnastike.com has some videos, pictures, and interviews from the meet online and you can check those out here.

August 10: Lou is leaving for Alabama today! She will be dorming with Ashley Preiss and Jocelyn Fowler. Good luck with your transition to college, Lou!

February 4: Lou did not compete at the Parkette Invitational because she is struggling with a back injury. Feel better soon, Lou!

October 25: Happy 18th Birthday, Lou! :)

October 17: Because of her excellent showing at Nationals and camp this year, Lou has been given an international assignment! She will be competing at the DTB Cup in Stuttgart, Germnay October 23-28. She will be traveling to this competition with USA teammate Jana Bieger. Congratulations on your assignment, Lou, and good luck in Germany!

August 18: Lou competed at Day 2 of Nationals and finished in 6th place all-around with a combined total of 116.500! She also finished 4th on bars and 7th on beam and made the 2007 Senior National Team. Congratulations, Lou! Lou started off the night on bars with a gorgeous bar routine for a 14.950. Unfortunatly, Lou fell on her full twisting back tuck on beam and went out of bounds on one of her tumbling passes on floor but she bounced back to hit a solid Yurchenko 1.5 on vault for a 14.550. Lou did an excellent job at Nationals and really caught the eye of many gymnastics fans with her clean form and nice presentation. Check out Lou's scores or full results from the competition here. August 16: Lou is currently in 6th place after Day 1 of Nationals! Lou started off the night on vault with a nice, clean Yurchenko 1.5. She had a great bars set which included an inside Endo toe-on 1/2 to Shaposhnikova and a toe on full, Tkatchev release into pak salto to toe-on half. The routine ended with giant full pirouette into immediate double arabian dismount. Lou went on to beam where she nailed her routine for a 15.250. Her routine included a back handspring into a full twisting back tuck, front aerial into sheep jump, back tuck, onodi, side arial, punchfront, and two back handsprings to a double back dismount. Lou finished the night on floor with a good floor routine. Her tumbling passes were: piked full-in, arabian double front, 1.5 twist to double full, and double pike. July 30: Lou competed at the US Classic in Battle Creek, MI this weekend. She only competed on bars and beam because she is recovering from an injury. Unfortunatly, Lou fell twice on beam but she had an amazing bar routine for a 14.95 which put her in 4th place! Great job, Lou, and congratulations to Lou's junior teammates Gabrielle Swart and Madeline Hanley who qualified to Nationals!

June 8: Lou had an impressive return to competition last week at the American Classic. She finished 10th all-around with a 56.95 and qualified to compete at Nationals in San Jose, CA this August. Lou's teammate, Amber Trani, finished 7th with a 58.3. Great job, Parkettes!

March 26: Lou has verbally committed to the University of Alabama! Congratulations, Lou!

January 28: After struggling for injuries for the past few months, Lou returned to competition at the Parkette Invitational yesterday. She had her shins heavily taped and was dealing with a lot of pain throughout the meet but despite the pain, Lou made it through and finished in 3rd place all-around! She started off on vault where she hit two solid yurchenko 1.5's. She struggled a little bit on bars (fall on tcatchev release) and beam (fall on full twisting back tuck and anodi) but came back strong to win floor with a 9.7! August 18: Lou competed in Day 2 of Nationals today and finished in 17th place all-around. She started off today on bars where she hit her routine; the only noticable mistake being a stumble forward on her arabian double front dismount. She had a wobble on her punchfront on beam but stuck the routine and she had a solid floor routine. Lou finished up the competiton with a nice Yurchenko Full on vault. August 17: Although Lou is still not pain free, she was able to compete watered-down routines at Day 1 of Nationals today. She started off on vault where she competed a Yurchenko Full and unfortunatly fell on her arabian double front dismount on bars. She stuck her beam routine and was solid on floor, opening with a double pike and finishing with a 2.5 twist. Right now, Lou is in 17th place. August 2: Lou scratched from the US Classic this past weekend. Last Monday, Lou had a bad landing on one of her floor tumbling passes. X-rays and MRI results did not show a break or fracture but Lou is still suffering from some pain in her shins. Lou is hopeful that she will be able to compete at Nationals next month in St. Paul, MN. Feel better soon, Lou! Click here to see the Nationals roster.

July 20: Lou will be competing at the US Classic next week in Kansas City, MO. She will be competing 3rd on vault in the first rotation. Amber Trani from Parkettes will be competing with her in the Senior Division and Parkette Juniors Lia DelPriore, Gabrielle Swart, Becky Tutka, and Davi Wilson will be competing in the morning session. June 17: Lou competed at a Regional Zone Meet at Parkettes yesterday to help her get ready for the US Classic next month. She had a fantastic meet, hitting all her routines and notching the highest all-around score of the entire competition. Also, her teammates Lia DelPriore and Davi Wilson qualified to Junior International Elite and a number of Parkette up-and-comers qualified for the Hopes Division of elite. February 2: Lou was unable to compete at the Parkette Invitational last Saturday due to a tibial plateau fracture of her right leg. Unfortunatly, Lou will be out of training for 8-10 weeks. Feel better, Lou! Although Lou couldn't compete in the competition, she was able to sing the national anthem before the final open-optional session. A picture of her singing is up.

October 25: Happy 16th Birthday, Lou! =)

August 4: Unfortunatly, Lou will not be competing at Nationals next week. She badly fractured her foot while doing a beam dismount on Sunday and she will be having surgery tomorrow to reattach a piece of the bone. Feel better soon, Lou! July 25: Lou qualified to Nationals this weekend by finishing 8th place all-around at the US Classic! She also finished in a three-way tie for 6th place on vault. Lou stuck her beam routine in the first rotation with only a few wobbles; the highlight of the routine was an impressive back handspring to full twisting back tuck combo. She had an unfortunate fall in her last tumbling pass on floor but displayed some sky-high tumbling that included a piked full-in and a double arabian. Lou competed a clean yurchenko 1.5 in the third rotation and wrapped the competition up with a good bar routine that included a tcatchev into pak salto combination. July 20: Lou will be competing this Saturday at the US Classic in Virginia Beach. Her first event is balance beam and she will be competing 7th in that rotation. Kristina Coccia, Amber Trani, and Mackenzie Fechter are also competing for Parkettes. Good luck to Lou and her Parkette teammates!

February 14: Lou is off to an amazing start this season! Lou competed in the Elite Optional Qualifier Session of the Parkette Invitational and won the Senior All-Around! Despite a fall on bars, she had a solid competition and picked up gold medals on every event except bars where she won the bronze. The following day, Lou won Parkette Invitational in the 15 Age Group! She hit all her routines perfectly for a 38.900 all-around which earned her the all-around victory as well first place on all four individual events. Congratulations, Lou!
