March 2005 What was it like having such a successful comeback and winning the Parkette Invitational this year? "It was very exciting and I am very pleased with myself because the hard work finally paid off." What are your short-term and long-term goals in gymnastics? "My short term goal is to try and make the Senior National Team and try to make the 2005 World Team. My long term goals are to get a full college scholarship (don't know where yet?) and to try and make it to the Olympics." Describe your favorite gymnastics memory. "I have a lot of memories but most of all I like when we go on trips and our team has a fun time. We laugh and giggle about silly stuff. We always have stories to come home with!!" What is the best advice someone has ever given you? "A lot of people encourage me but, most of all they tell me to be positive and always do my best, because in the end it will make you stronger in life." Who do you look up to as role-models in both life and gymnastics? "I look up to a lot of professional athletes. I think that they're all great and know how to handle themselves in pressured situations." Do you think that you will continue gymnastics in college? "Yes, I plan to do gymnastics in college because it will be so much fun!!" What is your favorite movie? "Well.....I have a lot of favorites!! I memorize a lot of the movies, it's hard to name them because we would be here FOREVER!!" In your opinion, what is the toughest thing about gymnastics? "I would have to say the mentality is the biggest part of the whole gymnastics world. You can have the physical part but if you don't have the mental then it wil be very TOUGH!" What was your favorite part of the 2004 Olympic Games? Was the USA success a motivation for you? "I liked everything about the Olympics! It was a very bone-chillin' experience!! The USA was very motivativing for me. I wanted to just start working and never stop. That's how they got where they are now; hard work." If you could give one message to all your fans, what would you say? "Enjoy life while it's still here and don't take things for granted. Be careful what you wish for, and always work hard and do your very best!!"
