The interview below was conducted in February 2006.

What is it like being back in the gym again?
"It is so refreshing to finally be back in a gym again and continue to do something I truly love. I feel completed now that gymnatics is back in my life! I'm home!!!!"

Was it hard getting all of your skills back?
"Surprisingly my skills came back quite easily. It was the conditioning of getting my body strong enough to do the skills that took a little longer to get back."

What are your short-term and long-term goals in gymnastics?
"My short term goals are to compete at Level 10 Regionals and qualify to Nationals. My long term goal is to get a college schollarship to a Division One school."

What are some colleges you are interested in?
"My top three schools that I would love to compete for are UCLA, University of Florida, and Stanford."

Who do you look up to as role-models in both life and gymnastics?
"I look up to my mom as a role model in life because she is such a great mom and friend and she has always set a good example as an athlete. I also look up to Jesus as a role model because of the kind of perosn he was and all his achievements in his life were so incredible. In gymnatics I look up to Nadia Comaneci because she had gone through so much in her life but she always gave 100% and never gave up. (If you have read her book you would know that it was a very inspirational story!)

What is the best advice anyone has ever given you?
"Everything happens for a reason, so do not give up."

How do you like training at AJS Pancott Gymnastics?
"I really enjoy training at AJS Pancott Gymnatics. We all work very hard but are still able to have fun in the process. The coaches are great and I love the girls! Pancott's gym is such a great atmoshphere to work out in."

Besides gymnastics, what do you like to do in your free time?
"I loveee spending time with my friends and my family. I am addicted to the computer always chatting with my friends and checking myspace. I also do other sports such as track and cross country."

Do you sometimes find it hard balancing school and gymnastics? How do you manage?
"Sometimes it is hard trying to balance school and gymnatics because I get loads of homework from school but I keep focused and I dont procrastinate. The key is to use my time wisely so I can get all my homework done and get to bed!!!"

What are you thinking about majoring in in college and what career would you like to pursue?
"I want to major in Drama and Theatre because I want to be an actress."

You are known for your artistry and grace in your floor choreography... how do you manage to pull the audience into your routines?
"Well, I love performing and showing off to the audience. A floor routine is like acting, so I use my dramatic expressions and sharp movements as I feel the music and portray a certain feeling."

If you could give one message to all of your fans, what would you say?
"To all my fans out there, I just want to thank you for supporting me throughout my gymnastics career. I know I have been in and out of the sport due to a severe injury, but everytime I fight back to do what I love, it makes me a stronger person and I realize that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. So never give up your dreams, and as I was told, everything happens for a reason."
