Krista Jasper is an athlete that truly shows dedication, determination, and
perseverance. It takes most aspiring gymnasts about 10 years to make it
to the elite level; Krista tackled this amazing feat in just four years.
She qualified to National Championships during her first year as an
elite and really caught the eye of many gymnastics fans through her
impressive skills, grace, artistry, and un-matched presentation. Unfortunatly, since her debut on the elite scene, Krista has been
plagued with injuries that have prevented her from reaching her full
potential. She has suffered from a nagging elbow injury for about four
years and this injury caused her to stop doing gymnastics altogether in
2005. However, Krista refused to give up without a fight! She got
alternative physical therapy for her elbow and stayed in shape by
running track and cross country. In 2006, she was able to return to
gymnastics. She realized that injuries put her 2008 Olympic dream out of
reach but Krista accomplished another goal by earning a full scholarship
to the University of North Carolina!
This website was first released in September 2001 and it will continue
to support Krista throughout her college years and whatever she pursues
in the future. Thanks for visiting, sign the guestbook before you leave,
and come again soon!
